BHRETT MCCABE, PHD

Dr. Bhrett McCabe is the founder of The MindSide, a center for Sports and Performance Psychology, and trusted advisor for the top performing competitors in the country. Dr. McCabe combines his personal experience as a 2x National Champion Division I athlete, his training as a licensed clinical psychologist, and his corporate leadership experience to help competitors achieve an elite performance mindset. Dr. McCabe serves as the Sports & Performance Psychologist for elite-level athletes, corporate leaders, and teams including The University of Alabama Athletics, PGA Tour, NFL, MLB and NBA.


Dr. McCabe holds a PhD degree in clinical psychology from Louisiana State University (LSU), with an emphasis in behavioral medicine having completed his internship at Brown University in Providence, RI. While an undergraduate at LSU, Dr. McCabe was a 4-year letterman on the baseball team and was a member of 2 National Championship teams, 3 SEC championship teams, and 3 College World Series teams.


Dr. McCabe hosts a podcast entitled "The Secrets to Winning", is an author and has published several academic journal articles, presented numerous scientific presentations, as well as provided insight and authored articles for trade magazines such as GOLF Magazine, Golf World, Golf Week, and ESPNW, among others. Dr. McCabe has made several appearances on The Golf Channel’s Morning Drive and The Golf Fix. Dr. McCabe is also on the Advisory Board for both Andrews Sports Medicine and Titlest Performance Institute (TPI).


KEVIN ALSCHULER, PHD

Dr. Kevin Alschuler is a sport and performance psychologist with 20 years of experience helping athletes, coaches, teams, and businesses excel under pressure. His work spans mental skills training, performance coaching, and innovative collaborations that integrate psychology into game strategy, team dynamics, and decision-making. Dr. Alschuler has supported elite performers including Olympians, World Cup athletes, PGA and LPGA golfers, collegiate teams, ultramarathoners, and Fortune 500 companies. His clients have won major sports championships, signed professional contracts, and reached pivotal career milestones.


Since 2012, Dr. Alschuler has also served on the faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine. After working early in his career in injury and illness rehabilitation, he now works in intercollegiate athletics, serving student-athletes across UW’s 22 teams. He is the primary clinical and sport psychologist for UW football.


Dr. Alschuler is based in Seattle, WA. He earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan, his M.S. and PhD from Eastern Michigan University, completed his residency at the Boston Consortium of Clinical Psychology (VA Boston Healthcare System, Harvard University, and Boston University), and fellowship training at the University of Washington. A lifelong multi-sport athlete, he was an all-American swimmer and competitive golfer in high school and rowed at Michigan. His wife, Heather, competed for Team Canada in the 2008 Olympics.

MEGAN BUNING, PHD

Dr. Megan Buning is a former Division I softball assistant and associate head coach at FSU, Coastal Carolina, and the University of Mississippi. As a former All-American softball pitcher at the University of South Carolina, she is a member of USC’s Athletic Hall of Fame and was named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Women’s Legends Class in 2017. After her coaching career, she moved into academia in 2013, and is published in the sport psychology, counseling, and coach education fields. Her research foci involved examining the intersection of sport strategies and education. Megan enjoys focusing her instruction and research specifically on the use of mental performance techniques to enhance coaches’ and game officials’ performance. Megan is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (C.M.P.C.), a trained Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE) instructor and is accredited to issue and interpret the DISC Profile and Test of Attentional and Interpersonal Styles (TAIS) assessments. Since 2015, Megan has used her spare time to serve as a SECNetwork+ and ACCX talent analyst for college softball along with providing mental performance training to various game officials, coaches, athletes, and teams.
